About This Leather

This journal is cut from full-grain vegetable-tanned leather made in Tuscany, a region with a long tradition of tanning leather the slow way. Instead of synthetic finishes that mask imperfections, vegetable tanning relies on natural tannins. The result is leather with real character, genuine durability, and a patina that deepens over years of use.

Our hides come from Conceria Walpier, a family-owned tannery in Tuscany. Walpier is a member of the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale, a group that certifies authentic Italian vegetable-tanning methods.

The walnut finish offers a rich deep-brown tone with timeless appeal. Over the years, the leather softens, darkens slightly, and develops a deep, lived-in character that reflects every adventure, meeting, and mile along the way.

Your journal is built to be used every day. Over time, the leather will naturally soften and develop a unique patina that reflects how you use it.

To keep it looking its best:

  • If desired, apply a small amount of quality leather conditioner every few months to maintain suppleness.

Fantastic product and even better price. I’ve been looking at paper republic for a while but this was exactly what I was looking for. Im glad it comes with all three paper inserts. I would 100% tell someone to buy this if they’re looking for a pocket journal. I would love to know if there’s a place I could find the paper inserts when I run out of space.
